Volcano mulch, the real pandemic
Mulch provides; moisture retention, weed suppression, and nutrients as it composts over the years. Mulch can however be incredibly dangerous if installed improperly. whenever we encounter improper mulch installations we take our time to remedy any current or foreseen issues. Here we are removing “volcano mulch”. Volcano mulch can be detrimental to a tree’s health. the moist soil can leave the tree susceptible to decay, insect & pest damage, and root girdling. After exposing the root flair, we install new mulch making sure to not pile mulch against the root flair.
